Summerland is where I grew up, it's 15 minutes north of Penticton and 50 minutes south of Kelowna.

Summerland is well known for its wineries and beaches, being ideally situated on Okanagan Lake between several major national population centres (Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton). Tourism is a major industry, along with agriculture and tertiary services.

Summerland has a population of 11,179 (2003) it is a community on the west side of Okanagan Lake in the interior of British Columbia. The largest center in the region is Kelowna, approximately 50 km to the north (via Highway 97), and Vancouver is approximately 425 km away.
